SELF SERVICE LAUNDRY & USE POLICY

1. FACILITY ACCESS AND OPERATIONAL HOURS

Washables provides state-of-the-art self-service laundry facilities for customers who prefer to manage their own garment care. Access to the facility is granted during posted operating hours. Washables reserves the right to modify these hours or close the facility for maintenance, private events, or safety reasons without prior notice. Entry into the facility constitutes acceptance of these rules and the general Terms of Use. Customers must use their Washables Mobile App or a valid payment card to activate machines; loitering without active machine use is strictly prohibited.

2. PROPER USE OF EQUIPMENT

Customers are responsible for the correct operation of washers and dryers. You must adhere to the load capacity limits marked on each machine; “overstuffing” leads to poor cleaning results and mechanical strain for which the customer may be held liable if damage occurs. Only high-efficiency (HE) detergents and approved laundry additives may be used. The use of industrial dyes, flammable solvents, or corrosive chemicals in our machines is strictly forbidden. Washables provides digital and physical instructions for each machine type; failure to follow these instructions resulting in a “Failed Cycle” does not entitle the customer to a refund.

3. UNATTENDED LOAD POLICY

To maintain efficiency for all patrons, customers are expected to stay with their laundry. If a customer must leave the facility, they must return before the machine cycle ends. Washables staff and other customers reserve the right to remove laundry from a machine that has finished its cycle to a neutral “Holding Basket” if the machine is needed and the owner is not present. Washables is not responsible for any loss, theft, or damage to laundry left unattended in machines or on folding tables. Any laundry left in the facility for more than four (4) hours after the cycle has ended will be considered “Abandoned” and moved to secure storage, subject to a retrieval fee.

4. PROHIBITED ITEMS AND HYGIENE STANDARDS

In the interest of public health and equipment longevity, certain items may not be washed in our self-service machines. These include:

(a) Items heavily contaminated with animal hair or feces

(b) Items used for oil-soaked industrial cleanup

(c) Floor mats with rubber backing that is disintegrating

(d) Any items infested with bedbugs, lice, or other pests.

If a customer is found processing prohibited items, they will be required to immediately stop the cycle, remove the items, and pay a Professional Sanitization Fee to restore the machine to service.

5. FACILITY CONDUCT AND SAFETY

Washables maintains a premium environment. Customers must behave in a manner that is respectful to others. Prohibited behaviors include:

(a) Smoking or vaping inside the facility

(b) Consumption of alcohol or illegal substances

(c) Loud music or disruptive noise

(d) Sitting on folding tables or machines.

Children must be supervised by an adult at all times for their safety. Customers are responsible for cleaning up any detergent spills or lint tray debris they create. The facility is under 24/7 high-definition video surveillance for the safety of our customers and the protection of our property.

6. DAMAGE TO PERSONAL PROPERTY

Because the cleaning process is entirely controlled by the customer in a self-service environment, Washables assumes no liability for damage to garments including shrinkage, color bleeding, tearing, or spotting. It is the customer’s responsibility to check the interior of the drum for any items left by previous users and to select the appropriate water temperature and cycle speed for their specific fabric types.

7. REFUNDS FOR MACHINE MALFUNCTION

In the event of a mechanical failure (e.g., machine takes payment but does not start, or stops mid-cycle), the customer must report the issue immediately via the “Support” button in the Washables App or to the on-site attendant. We will verify the error through our digital backend. Validated malfunctions will result in a service credit to the customer’s account or a remote restart of the machine. No cash refunds are provided on-site.

8. PERSONAL PROPERTY AND THEFT PREVENTON

The facility is a public space. Washables is not responsible for the loss or theft of personal items such as detergents, laundry bags, wallets, or electronics left on site. Any items found by staff will be placed in a “Lost and Found” bin for a period of fourteen (14) days, after which they will be donated to charity.
